Crazy Blogger Lady

So I love blogs!  I follow them for ideas, on crafting, cooking, decorating, photos, etc, but there a couple I have stayed dedicated to because the authors make me want to be their friend :-)  Emily is one of those...  she has a weekly Embrace the Camera idea that is meant to get the momma's in the pictures rather than behind the camera, great idea, I think I will start participating...

Here is mine for the week,

I need to do a better job, this is the only picture of me in the last couple weeks taken with my camera!  Me and Hunter on a trip to the beach for kite flying....

Renewing Our Vows

That was the plan, at 10 years, we wanted to renew our vows.  We have been through some pretty rocky roads and we are completely different people than we were 10 years ago, so we wanted to renew our promises to each other, make some new ones, and share those vows with our children.  But this move changed our plans, we have to put that off, for #15 I guess.

We ended today at the beach waiting for sunset.....after a few minutes of watching the waves, I was told to stand up and close my eyes....I opened them to my two beautiful children standing before me, Audrey holding an open bible....she says "mom turn to dad and hold hands"  and proceeded to "renew our vows".....what a special moment for us to have these two amazing children we have created with our love there to celebrate our love in special way!

Oh yeah, and I got a new ring!  BLING BLING!

PS.....I'm not the only spoiled one, Wes' gift was a 6 month membership to Punishment Training Center, owned by Tito Ortiz, who teaches a wrestling class!  Oh M GEE.....we're just simple folks, this stuff is EXCITING for us!!!

Boogie Robots

You would have to be a lover of Despicible Me to get the title here, "I said cookie robots not boogie robots!"

One of the top ten on our Southern California bucket list is/was to buy and learn how to boogie board check check and check (only 3 checks because I am a wimp and even with a wet suit on, I am FREEZING!)...but the non-wimpy Smith's gotterdone!  Hunter and Audrey literally went out, caught a wave, rode it all the way to the beach, got up, went back out and completeled this cycle about 100 times!  They are awesome!  And Wes wore the biggest grin of them all!  To top off this weekend, we saw dolphins both days!  That is a truly amazing sight!  I felt like a little kid holding my breath and waiting for them to break out of the water again!

Hold tight for mom "rippin the curl"....I tried today, but like I said it was too cold, so to be continued another day :-)

On this weeks to do list, LA Natural History Museum, a visit with The Gardners!  (Ya to the Hoo!), we'll be logging in more beach time, and preparing for a visit to Brownsville!  Stay tuned :-)

Day 13

Tomorrow will be two weeks since we arrived in Huntington Beach!  Although the time is going quickly, and we truly LOVE being able to be a family every night, Audrey and I are are lonely for home!  We miss Grandma Sugar Plum. (and everyone else too!) It is hard to not have my mommy whenever I want her!  Luckily we both have Skype so we can see each others faces!

Today begins Spring Break and we are hoping to get several little excursions in next week!  I have heard "I'm bored" out of these kids more in the last 2 weeks that in their whole lives!  While yes, there is a lot to do here, everything has to be planned.  They can't just go outside and throw the ball, we have to walk to the park, they can't go out and play in their fort because there are no trees here to build one.  We certainly still have A LOT of adjusting left to do!

It is really windy here and everyone tells me its not normal to be windy, but I am wondering if they are so used to the wind they don't notice it anymore?  The wind was blowing today too, but the weather is warm enough to make the beach a little more fun, so we packed up a picnic and off we went.....
