Creepy Crawly Critters

Walking on the beach when we first got here, the kids spotted a hairy ole caterpillar crossing the path and they just had to save the little guy.  It goes without saying he came home to be a "pet" and got a name- Cattywompus!  We went to Target and got him a butterfly cage, and 3 days later he died!

 Luckily the cage came with a coupon for 4 "free" caterpillars (you know the free except you pay the S&H kind of free).  So 1 week later they came.  I should have been recording the process all along...but didn't think of it until now. 

It has been only 1 week, but they are more than double in size!  Last night 3 of them crawled to the top and started hanging, the sign that cocoons are coming.  This morning # 4 was up there too!  Just since this morning one is almost already cocooned!  Amazing! 

A Typical Day

I know it seems like we are always busy doing something, but we really aren't!  While, yes, we are really enjoying all there is to do and see here, there are a lot of little daily things as well...



These are the things we were missing the most during those months of Wes being gone 6 days a week!
